Live music is a staple in beach towns across the country. So it’s not It’s surprising that Milton, Lewes, and Rehoboth are teeming with musical talent. From stages to patios, our beach area is rocking, crooning, and singin’ the blues to lure you in and cause you sweet vibrations.
We bring the 90’s Indie female vibes, sweet bluesy bands, and soulful guitar riffs right to your ears with our excellent line-up this summer. So, prepare to be out on the town while you’re here with us at the Mansion Farm Inn and perhaps pack a stellar pair of dancing shoes.
Christine Havrilla and Gypsy Fuzz
Christine Havrilla is an award-winning indie artist whose style is self-described as “neofunkadelicfolkpoptwangrock.” In other words, she’s hitting home runs in many genres. She and her Gypsy Fuzz band have collectively amassed 15 albums and her music has been featured in films and is played on your radios.
Luckily for you, she lives here at the beach and makes sure she savors the local flavor when she’s not touring. You can catch her in Facebook live shows until next month when she plays at Rehoboth Ale House on the 8th, Bluecoast on the 14th, and Big Chill Surf Cantina on the 22nd.
Lower Case Blues
These guys are a big hit in the tri-state area thanks to their excellent mix of blues and rock. Lower Case Blues are the 2019 Inductees of the Delaware Blues Hall of Fame and have shared the stage with big names like Grand Funk Railroad and Buddy Guy. For a band with only three members, they sure do pack a punch!
Catch them just down the street from the Mansion Farm Inn at Milton Theater Quayside on May 27th. You can also venture out to The Pond every Sunday night at 8pm to see them shake the rafters.
Al Frantic Band – FRANTIC FRETS MUSIC & ANTIQUES
Al Frantic is a Milton favorite with his charming banter and a wry smile. He’s also pretty
epic on the guitar with a penchant for standing ovation-worthy riffs. His rich soulful voice settles into the music and carries through the notes played like a cool summer breeze. He plays a little bit of everything, a true chameleon of music, so you’ll be sure to hear something you know well and love.
So, you’re a fan of live music, but you don’t care who plays as long as you’re jamming. We have a few places sure to rock your socks (or flip flops if you please).
Grain on the Rocks shares a strip of the Delaware Bay with the Lewes Ferry Terminal and quiet sandy beaches. It’s a serene spot with front row seats to the water and salty air to kiss your skin. But you’re showing up for the music, which is stacked. Local musicians and full bands are storming the stage here several times a week for an ultimate live music experience.
Big Chill Surf Cantina is a stellar little spot on your way into Rehoboth. The wood shack and beach bum vibes welcome you in like a happy-go-lucky surf camp counselor. You’ll love the outdoor bar and patio with lots of seating, games, and good times to come. Local music rides the waves of this spot almost every night of the week in the summer, so stop in for a cold beer and fill your ears with some tunes.
Irish Eyes has locations in Milton and Lewes, each with its own vibe. The Milton location has that Irish pub atmosphere complete with photos of Ireland buildings and landscapes on the walls. There is a spacious patio out back that looks over the park and Broadkill River. It’s where you can catch live shows in the warmer months. When the weather is chilly, head back inside to the bar to catch some tunes instead of a cold!
The Lewes Irish Eyes location overlooks the Lewes Canal, with an enormous wraparound outdoor deck that is covered and heated in the winter months for those of you who still want to be “outside.” Otherwise, there is ample seating indoors and live music almost every weekend.
You can’t mention live music at the beach and not include Bottle and Cork in Dewey. But this location is for the 21 and older crowd looking for a high-energy jam session. You’ll see big names and local legends pass through this epic location when it opens each May until it closes in September. So, if you want to be on your feet and living large, this is the place to be.
Visiting the Delaware beaches isn’t all about the ocean and tax-free shopping. The live music here is superb and we have some pretty incredible local talent we love sharing with you.
